Accepting New Patients

your first visitheart

Your first visit to Safford Dental establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor.

We encourage you to make a list of questions to ask our office, so you don't forget anything on the day of your appointment. This includes any concerns you have, or oral problems you've been experiencing.

Your initial appointment with one of our doctors will include a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. We will also take radiographs (x-rays), which include either a full mouth series or a panoramic X-Ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth. If necessary, a bite-wing series of radiographs will be taken for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of the posterior teeth. The doctor will explain the findings and discuss treatment options with you to optimize your oral health. We emphasize a co-diagnosis philosophy with our patients, including you in the discussion to better educate you as to the cause and the solution to your dental needs.

If you have dental insurance, remember to bring your insurance card with you!

what we need from you
